FAQ
Answers to Common Questions.
Everything practices ask about the appliance, the Morning Repositioner and 20-year appliance protection.
Getting Started
What is Master Sleep 20™?+
Master Sleep 20™ is a complete oral appliance program for professional dental practices. It combines a custom mandibular advancement appliance, a custom Morning Repositioner, a personalized storage case and up to twenty years of appliance protection in one coordinated program.
Who is Master Sleep 20™ for?+
Master Sleep 20™ is designed for professional dental practices. The treating dentist prescribes the appliance, remains at the center of patient care, and is supported by a digital, prescription-based manufacturing workflow.
Can I add my practice branding?+
Yes. Each program includes a personalized storage case with your practice logo, supporting a professional patient experience.
Do I need special equipment to get started?+
No special equipment is required. Digital records and IOS workflows are supported, and our technical case support team is available to help with each submission.
Appliance & Repositioner
What is the Morning Repositioner?+
The Morning Repositioner is a purpose-designed morning appliance intended to guide the mandible toward the dentist-recorded baseline occlusal position after overnight advancement.
What design refinements does the appliance have?+
The appliance features an anterior breathing opening that reduces unnecessary anterior bulk, reduced posterior extension that terminates at approximately the mid-first-molar level, and refined advancement geometry with a shorter, smoother, more rounded advancement-fin profile. Together these create a more compact appliance profile while maintaining controlled mandibular advancement.
Why is the Morning Repositioner included?+
The overnight appliance holds the mandible in a forward position during sleep. In the morning, the mandible benefits from guidance back toward its natural baseline position. The Morning Repositioner is designed specifically for this purpose and is included as part of the complete system.
Workflow & Prescription
How do I start a case?+
Register as a partner dentist, then submit a digital case with the patient's records and your prescription. Our team designs and fabricates the appliance and Morning Repositioner, and protection is registered from day one.
How are cases submitted?+
Cases are submitted digitally through a streamlined workflow. Digital records and IOS impressions are accepted, keeping the process accurate and consistent.
Is every appliance made to my prescription?+
Yes. Master Sleep 20™ is prescription-based. Each appliance is designed and manufactured to the treating dentist's specification and the patient's anatomy.
What records are needed to submit a case?+
A complete case submission typically includes the clinical records needed to design and manufacture the appliance — usually intraoral scans or impressions, bite records and a professional prescription. Additional records may be requested depending on the case.
What files should I upload to submit a case?+
Upload one compressed ZIP file containing: Upper and Lower Digital Scans STL, PLY or OBJ files exported from your intraoral scanner. Therapeutic Bite Record A bite scan recorded at the mandibular advancement and vertical opening prescribed by the treating dentist for fabrication of the MASTER SLEEP 20™ APPLIANCE. Baseline Bite Record The patient's pretreatment habitual / baseline occlusal relationship, preferably the dentist-recorded MIP bite, for fabrication of the Custom Morning Repositioner. Not sure about the therapeutic bite? You can submit the scans first and our technical team can review the case with you before production.
What is the manufacturing workflow?+
Each case moves through four stages: Intake (records and prescription are submitted), Design (the appliance is digitally designed to the prescription and the patient's anatomy), Fabrication (precision manufacturing produces the appliance and Morning Repositioner), and Delivery (the completed case is delivered for fitting, with protection registered from day one).
20-Year Protection
How does the 20-year protection work?+
Each appliance is enrolled once for a single original protection period of up to twenty years. Eligible normal-wear and product-failure replacements are covered under the program, and one eligible No-Fault Replacement is included during the original protection period.
What is covered under appliance protection?+
Eligible normal functional wear or natural appliance aging, and eligible manufacturing, material, mechanism or structural failure under intended use, may qualify for replacement under current program terms.
Does a replacement restart the 20-year term?+
No. All eligible replacements remain within the original protection period. For example, if an eligible replacement is provided in Year 8, that replacement remains covered through the remaining period of the original 20-year term rather than beginning another twenty years.
What is the No-Fault Replacement?+
Each original protection period includes one eligible No-Fault Replacement, intended for a qualifying unexpected event that is not classified as normal wear or a covered product failure — for example, accidental loss or accidental damage. Once the included No-Fault Replacement has been used, it is considered consumed for that protection period.
What happens if a patient's teeth or mouth change?+
Over many years, a patient's dental or oral condition may change — for example, a new crown, an implant restoration or tooth movement. This is different from normal wear or product failure. Additional protection may be available for certain eligible dental or oral changes, and the patient should contact the treating dentist for evaluation.
Who do patients contact if they need a replacement?+
The first step is always to contact the treating dentist. The dentist evaluates the clinical situation and, when replacement coordination is needed, communicates with Master Sleep on the patient's behalf — Patient → Treating Dentist → Master Sleep.
Are dental services included in the protection?+
No. Appliance protection applies to the eligible appliance replacement benefit under the program. It does not automatically include professional clinical services such as examination, scanning or fitting, which are provided by the treating practice and may involve separate fees.
Patient Care
How should patients care for their appliance?+
Patients should clean the appliance regularly, store it in the provided case when not in use, and avoid unapproved heat, harsh chemicals or self-modification. If the appliance feels loose, damaged or uncomfortable, the patient should contact the treating dentist.
